Color Match
Visual Example: How to Play
Watch how the Stroop Effect works in this simulation to train your brain before the round begins.
Match the Ink Color, NOT the Written Word!
Your brain automatically wants to read the text, but you must overcome that instinct and focus exclusively on the physical ink color! If the word "RED" is printed in cyan ink, tap Cyan before the timer bar drains.
đ How to Play
- 1.Look at the large word in the center of the screen.
- 2.Identify the color the word is painted in (the ink), not what the word spells out.
- 3.Tap the button that matches the ink color before the top progress bar drains.
- 4.Chaining correct answers together increases your combo multiplier up to 5x!
đ§ The Stroop Effect
Discovered in 1935 by psychologist John Ridley Stroop, the Stroop Effect demonstrates that reading words is so automatic for humans that our brains struggle to process color when conflicting text is present.
Playing Color Match strengthens cognitive inhibition, visual focus, and neurological processing speed!
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the secret to scoring high in Color Match?
Color Match tests the famous psychological Stroop Effect: your brain naturally wants to read the printed word instead of noticing the ink color. Focus exclusively on the physical color of the letters, ignore the text, and tap fast!
What is the difference between Classic and Time Attack modes?
Classic mode gives you 3 lives and increases speed with every successful streak until you run out of hearts. Time Attack is a frantic 60-second blitz where you score as many points as possible before the clock expires.
Is Color Match accessible for color-blind players?
Yes! Every single answer button includes high-contrast text labels and distinct geometric icon markers in addition to colors so all players can compete fairly.
